How different is JEE Mains from JEE Advanced?

Jee Mains is like a T-20 match

whereas Jee Advance is like a Test Match.

In Jee Mains you have got to answer 90 questions in 3 hours which means 2 minute per question on an average.The standard of the questions are not very tough but needs practice and practice to complete the paper in 3 hours.You need to know which questions to attempt and which not to. Thus selections of questions is an important aspect in Jee Mains.

In Jee Advance,you get relatively less number of questions in the stipulated time but the standards of questions are very hard.Along with selection of questions you need to have a complete knowledge about all the topics that are included in the syllabus.It's like playing a teat match with two papers in a day. And as they say Test Cricket is the toughest format of the game,so is Jee Advance the toughest engineering entrance exam in our country. Like Test match we need to have a quality technique to survive it unlike T-20 cricket where most of the time all you need to do is swing the bat hard.

But just like both the formats of cricket are difficult in their own ways ,similarly both Jee Mains and Advance are difficult in their own ways and require serious and dedicated preparation to crack it.

And to all those juniors who are going to appear Jee next year,best of luck.Stay focused and believe in yourself.All have their weaknesses.Don’t underestimate yourself,you are better than you think you are.

1. Knowledge :- Advance requires more clear concepts and every question is based on 2–3 concepts while in mains you get questions based on one chapter only (Not every).
2. Elimination :- Elimination method can be availed only in Mains not in Advanced. There can be more than one right in JEE Advanced.
3. Mental State - Inspite of fact, mains conclude one paper. Some screw mains while JEE Advanced has a stiffy 6 hours papers where you may get down (like me).You can get back in JEE Advanced in any paper or being screwed in any paper while Mains have only 3 hours . You have to do . No time for thinking.
4. IITian vs NITians - Advanced help you to become IITian and Mains to become NITian.
5. State of Condtion :- Some people take JEE Mains lightly and are not even able to clear or clear in pathetic condition which made them in depression.
6. Coaching :- Advanced can be cleared (Good IIT , no offense ) only with the help of good coaching but Mains can be also cleared with basic knowledge.
7. Opinions- Some made you believe that JEE Advanced is life. This is wrong. IITians are best in India but rest can also do anything in life rather than placments.
8. Mains is conducted by CBSE and Advanced by anyone of the IITs.
